Maisonette Portobello

This highly flexible maisonette in the heart of Portobello is a London pied-à-terre for a California native and her two adult children. The studio created a simple, easy living space adopting a mid-century modern aesthetic throughout. Designed in collaboration with architect Seth Stein, the interior focuses on optimising and creating space to accommodate all possible constellations of guests.  In one bedroom, an oversized green velvet headboard creates options for one bed or two; in another a fold out bed doubles as seating in a study.  Long pier mirrors reflect natural and internal light.  American modernist classics by Saarinen and Eames creating a feeling of home even when on another continent.
